SeminarFest 2016 took place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV from February 5-11. This year’s event had record-breaking attendance, drawing a crowd of over 1,000 OSH professionals for world-class networking and top quality education.
Sunday and Tuesday’s luncheon presentations were well received and appreciated by all in attendance. On Sunday, Terrance Barkan, CAE, Chief Strategist at GLOBALSTRAT, discussed how to overcome some of the challenges of engaging a cross-cultural workforce in safety practices. Tuesday’s presentation was given by Christine Branche, Ph.D., Principal Principal Associate Director and Director of the Office of Construction Safety and Health for NIOSH/CDC. Dr. Branche provided attendees with guidelines for conducting a successful Safety Stand-Down – a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. Slides from both luncheon presentations are available below.
There are plenty of reasons why over 1,000 safety professionals go to SeminarFest year after year. For some, it’s the 80+ seminars they can choose from to build a custom schedule specific to their interests and needs. For others, it’s because ASSE chooses the very best OSH instructors who provide expert training and solutions that can be put into practice immediately. And for many, it’s because they seek new ideas and inspiration that will bring their safety program to the next level…all while earning up to 5.1 CEUs in one week and one location.
Everyone has a different reason for going.
